Spoons

Yet another Monday.  Sometimes I get to feeling that Monday gets a bad rep.  Should Monday be blamed for the weekend's faults?  Probably not, but it get's the blame.  Not much going on today.  The Worldwide Indexing project ended today and we exceeded the goal.  Total number was over 60,000.  There could have been more if some people hadn't indexed multiple batches, but oh well.

FHE tonight was ultimate spoons.  I'm not particularly fond of this game as it can sometimes end in small injuries.  It's the game of spoons with an extra twist.  In spoons, you sit in a circle and everyone is dealt 4 cards.  The person to the left of the dealer starts by picking a card from the top of the deck and then either exchanging that card for one in their hand, or just passing it on.  Everyone passes the cards to the right until someone gets four of a kind.  Once someone has four of a kind, they pick a spoon out of the middle of the table.  And here is where spoons is the card version of musical chairs - after one spoon has been taken, it's a free for all, with one person left without a spoon.  That person is out and play repeats until there is one winner.  The twist of ultimate spoons is that the spoons are not on the table.  They are on a table across the hall, in another room, etc.  This running to various locations has resulted in injuries in the past.  So, they started a regular game on the stage, without all the running, pushing and falling.  I actually won a game!  First time ever, I think.
