Choir and Indexing

My choir sang during sacrament meeting today.  In honor of Pioneer Day this week, we sang "They, the Builders of the Nation".  Surprisingly, not many people know that song... I thought it was a well known hymn, but apparently not.  I wanted to reward those dedicated souls who came to church a full half hour early to practice - so I made them brownies.  And we had a good turn out.  It's odd not having Tif at church, but I managed.

It's the 3rd Sunday which means we have Linger Longer.  It's usually not a meal on the 3rd Sunday, but more like little treats.  I sat at a table with some people from Royal City.  They live the furthest away, and they pretty much stay for all the meetings, including choir.  They are quickly becoming my favorite people in Singles' Ward.  Well, because of Linger Longer I don't get many people at choir practice.  They've either been away from their video games too long or they forget because their bellies are full and requesting naps.  (Okay, the video games thing is unfair.  Probably.)  So I just had a handful of people at practice.  Oh well, it's still a beautiful song.

When I finally got home, Tif was back!  We spent a little while catching up on our weekends, then headed for a little nap.  Today started the Worldwide Indexing Event - they hope to get 50,000 people to index one batch in a 24 hour period.  Apparently it was really hard to download and submit batches at times.  I waited and indexed at about 11pm and everything went pretty smoothly.  Have I mentioned that I love my computer?  I can index again!
