Friends and Macaroni & Cheese

A couple times a week, mom makes either cracked wheat or wheat berries for breakfast.  Tif and I love those mornings, because mom puts them in this little crock pot to cook over night.  So when we turn the corner into the kitchen, there is this inviting little light.  That light means that there is something delicious in the crock pot for breakfast.  It's nice because then we don't  have to rummage through the cereal or the fridge for something quick to eat.

Anyways, I went to lunch with my friend Laura today.  She was visiting from Yakima.  It's not like I never talk to her, but it's nice to just sit down and chat.  It took most of my lunch hour, but it's worth it.  Mom picked up Dallin from his job on road crew (the people who clean up the interstate).  He told her all about how he had made baked Macaroni & Cheese from scratch and how he had learned to make a roux.  This was for a cooking merit badge, if I remember right.  So mom decided to try that for dinner tonight.  It was very good.

Then it was off to Zumba.  I was really sore tonight for some reason.  Don't quite know why, but my legs just didn't want to move any more than they absolutely had to.  But I still had fun.  Then I came home and helped Tif pick out some outfits for this weekend.  She is leaving tomorrow to go to Seattle for their "Midsingles Conference".  It sounds like a lot of fun:  Temple session, hike/stroll to the falls (I forget which one), a service project, dance, etc.  I'm just a little jealous of her having so much fun without me.  But mom and I are determined to do something fun this weekend too.  We'll see what we can come up with.
