Pancakes and Mau

Back to work.  Not much going on there.  We had pancakes and leftover chicken for dinner.  Mom even let me cook the pancakes with her special pancake dispenser.  I gave it to her for Christmas a couple years ago and it comes in quite handy.  She made a couple sauces for the chicken, so it tasted really good.  Then I went up to FHE.  We were going to have a large scale Speed (card game) competition, but the people who were supposed to bring extra decks of cards didn't show.  So, they put a couple tables on the stage for those who wanted to play cards, and then pulled out the dodgeballs for the boys.  I mean - everyone else.  My table didn't really want to play speed, so we did a couple rounds of scum and then Mau.  I am so happy that I found people who wanted to play mau!!!  It's a difficult game, but I love it.  Essentially, it is played similar to Uno, but there are specific unspoken rules.  If you break these rules during game play, you get a card as punishment.  It is your responsibility to figure out the rules as quickly as possible and try to win the game.  If you win a round, you get to establish a new rule for the next round.  And no one but you knows the rule, at first.  Like I said, it's quite difficult, but so much fun once you get the hang of it.  We had between 6-9 people who had never played before who kept rotating in to play.  I haven't played mau since college.  It was a lot of fun.  I got to know people a bit better, and I stayed at FHE until almost 9pm.  That's all, folks!
