I mowed the east and west lawns today. I was going to de-weed using the spray we found on Friday, but it recommends that you don't spray on a day that is projected to get over 85 degrees. Ya, it was projected to get above 100 today. So I held back... maybe Saturday will be okay. Now I have to watch the weather channel.
Mom tried something different for dinner - Chicken Tamale Casserole. It was good, but different from what we're used to. The main sauce was canned Enchilada Sauce, and we don't usually use that in anything. I put in a couple loads of laundry and headed to Institute. We talked about how succession of the presidency works. Also had a good time playing "crack the block" - Bishop Stones drew a "wall" on the blackboard and seperated it out into offset squares, which he lettered A-ZZ. We split boys vs girls and we had to answer questions about the Saturday Afternoon Conference Session. We supplied some of the questions, and Bishop chose some. It was fun, but a little too competative for my taste.
Our after-institute activity was Liar's Dice. This is essentially the game they played on Pirates of the Carribean. In groups of up to 5 people, everyone gets 5 dice and a non-transparent cup. You all shake up the dice in the cup and turn it over on the table, careful not to let any dice escape. You look at your dice, but don't show them to anyone. Then someone guesses how many dice of a specific number are in the game. The guesses escalate, and at some point the next person in play will doubt the previous guess. Say you're playing and the person before you guessed that there are 7 sixes in play. You're fairly certain there aren't. So you call them a Liar and everyone reveals their dice. If they were right and there are 7(or more) sixes, then you have to take one of your dice out of play. If you were right and there aren't 7 sixes, then the person who made the claim has to take a die out of play. And repeat, until only 1 person has any dice. It was really fun. I lost terribly the first game, and got second place the second game.
Then it was home to fold some laundry and go to bed!
