Roofing Day #1

My phone rang at 7:22am.  It was mom telling me that the roofers were here an I needed to move my car down to the street.  So I groggily put on clothes and went outside to move my car.  The roofers had been there since about 7:15am, and were already at work removing the old roof.

Since I was up, mom had me run a couple errands.  I went out to Walmart and got a pack of water, Gatorade and ice.  I also stopped by the office to get our good green cooler.  We set it up in the carport and let the workers know that they were all welcome to whatever was in the cooler.  I think they were very surprised.  Mom told me that one of them said, "for all of us?"  I don't know how often they have people do that for them.  Thanks, Sheri (and Blake) for strongly suggesting this idea.

I did some of the never-ending task (laundry) and cleaning.  Then I went out to Moses Lake Steel to get a piece of sheet metal cut for my makeup board.  Unfortunately, when I got home, it didn't fit in the frame right.  It seems like it wasn't cut perfectly square, so two corners are preventing it from dropping into the frame.  I can't decide it I take it back and have them maybe grind down those corners a little, or if I try to gouge the frame a little.  Well, after this frustration, I joined mom upstairs for a nap.  While I was sleeping, Vaughn stopped by and fixed the upstairs toilet!  We had talked about what was wrong a few days ago, so he brought some tools and got it all done.

Mom woke me up for dinner.  She made a taco soup, which was excellent.  While we were eating, Tif noticed that I was a bit flushed and took my temperature:  101.7 degrees.  Unfortunately, this meant no institute for me.  *Sad Face*  I had prepared and cross-referenced and everything for this weeks lesson!  But I wasn't feeling very good, so staying home was well advised.  At about 9:30 or 10pm I got a call from Vlad.  He used to live in Moses Lake, but moved down to Salt Lake to go to school.  I haven't heard from him in awhile, so it was good to chat and catch up.
