Conference in Tri-Cities

Woke up quite early this morning (for me) and got ready to drive to Tri-Cities.  Today is Parker's birthday, so we're heading down to watch conference and party with the Smiths!  We arrived a few minutes before the first session and Sheri had made cinnamon rolls.  It was an excellent breakfast after the drive.  Then we all settled in to watch conference, which is different with kiddos.  They bring a different perspective and energy to conference.

Well, between sessions we celebrated Parker's birthday!  She received many presents, including some Frozen dolls, a Frozen bag, some dresses, and an embroidered towel for her baptism.  (Yes, that is the present I mentioned briefly in yesterday's post.)  After the gift opening and playing that ensued, we settled in for the last session of conference.  A lot of people fell asleep during this session, though I won't name names.  Then it was time for dinner.  Since it was Parker's birthday, she got to choose dinner and she chose scones.  I've never eaten scones with meat before, but it was really good.  The girls fried the scones and Sheri made the chicken and gravy.  The rule for dinner was that we had to eat one scone with meat, then we could eat them with jam/jelly.  Great choice for a birthday dinner, in my opinion.

After dinner, we played a card game and just chilled for awhile.  Then it was cake time.  After eating our fill of the rich chocolate cake, Mom, Tif and I said our goodbyes and headed home.  It's been a long day, and we are all tired.  Good Night.  And Happy Birthday Park!
