It's ward temple day! Mom worked for me this afternoon so that I could get a little nap and get ready to leave for the temple at 5pm. We meet at the Nelson building and carpool down. I went with Brother Moberg and a few girls from the ward. We mostly talked on the way down. Got there a little bit before 7pm and waited for the remaining cars to get there.
I'm actually in this picture. I stole this from my friend Mylee's facebook. I just forget to take pictures, especially when I turn off my phone in the car so it doesn't ring in the temple. Finally, I was baptized for Dad's Aunt Mary. I say finally because I've forgotten to take the little pink paper twice before. So finally got baptized and confirmed for her. To my recollection, this is the first time I've done family names. I also got to use my new towel! There weren't many people who came tonight, so we were done just about the same time as the 6pm session was getting out. (A few endowed girls went to that session).
After we got out of the temple, we ate at Old Country Buffet. We usually go to Costa Vida, but we've been there almost every trip in about a year. And since we had a smaller group, we opted for the buffet. I was actually pleasantly surprised at their selection and quality. The salmon (which I typically avoid) was amazing! And everyone was able to eat their fill of just what they wanted. I also had fun chatting with the girls at my table.
Then it was off home. I took the very back seat and did my Institute assignment on the way home. It didn't even take me the whole ride. Finally got back home at about 11:30pm. I love temple days. Sometimes they are chaotic, but I come home with a nice peaceful feeling.
P.S. - I just remembered. Dad would have liked the temple worker who welcomed us. I don't remember his exact words, but he basically said that we should be glad and happy to be in the temple, serving those who have passed on. It just reminded me of what Dad said - sternness and grimness are not gifts of the spirit. This man was very happy and positive, and probably would have agreed with Dad. He's been on my mind tonight, in case you couldn't tell.
