Doctor Vaughn left mid-day today and headed up to Girl's Camp with his wife, giving me the afternoon off. I had some large envelopes to mail, but had run out of the right stamps. So I decided to just go into the post office and pay for them to post it. Well, the envelopes that we've used for years are apparently 1/2 inch too tall. Because of this, it is considered a parcel not a large envelope and the price is about 3 times as high. I refused to mail them. Yep, that happened.
Well, later this evening, Tifini, Amber (our friend) and I went over to Sister O'Neill's house for swimming and dinner.
I guess I could call her Collene... Anyway, we went for a swim in her pool, and it was very nice. The deep end is at least half the pool, and we mostly just floated around and talked.
Then she made us dinner. Pictured is the salad - chicken, lettuce, corn, black beans and bbq sauce. She also had a fruit salad and Amber brought a strawberry pie. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner. Sister O'Neill has a really nice house that she and her husband Mike have built. She also had some fun little surprises - like a "Don't tread on me" shot glass, and an oil lamp from Israel.
The best part of the evening was probably the conversation. Collene used to be in the YSA Ward because her husband was our Ward Clerk. She became our ward mother and we got very attached to her. Then a couple months ago, they released them. We haven't seen her much since, and it was nice to catch up.
