Got up a little early today to do some indexing and listen to general conference. I also found a new song for choir - which hopefully I can find a pianist for. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Then off to church. I got there a little early so I could get some copies made of the new choir piece. In our meeting, they released Brent (and Lora) Bailey from his calling as Finance Clerk in the YSA Ward. They had been in for 7 years. And we got 3 new clerks... but we don't need 3 new clerks to replace Brother Bailey. So I don't know exactly what they'll be doing - Jim Neilsen, John Wright and Glade Lybbert.
During Sunday School, I made an appointment with Bishop for a blessing. Let me preface this - during Stake Conference, I had a notebook where I was writing down any inspiration I received. One such inspiration was that I felt like I needed a priesthood blessing, which was odd because that hadn't really been a question on my mind or anything. So I wrote it down, but kind of dismissed it. Then a few days later, I was listening to some General Conference talks for Institute and the same thought came to me, I should ask my Bishop for a priesthood blessing. Once could just be my brain, but twice was one too many to ignore. So I had the blessing during Sunday School. While there were no new revelations, I left my Bishop's office with an added measure of peace and comfort that I hadn't realized I needed.
Choir was actually quite successful. I may have found a pianist, but he'll let me know next week if he can play it. I'm usually the one behind the piano/organ, so it's both fun and scary to be directing the choir. We practiced for half an hour and then went home. Well, I took the scenic route home - decided I'm drive through Mont Lake and see where my friend ChristyLynn lives. (She just moved in there.) Well, as I'm driving, what do I see?
Yep - girls riding horses. It was so bizarre. Anyway, so I headed home to find mom just getting dinner ready. She made this new zucchini casserole. It was DELICIOUS! A very good Sunday, overall.
