Stake Choir and Stake Conference

Woke up earlier today and went to the Stake Center.  Got there just in time to save Mom & Tif a seat, then headed to the Choir warm-up.  One of my callings in the YSA Ward is Music Chairman. And I'm the only one who will admit to being able to play hymns.  I know several pianists in the ward, but they all claim to not be able to play hymns.  I'm gonna call their bluff here in a little bit. I heard one of them practicing Moonlight Sonata between Sunday School and 3rd hour.  If you can play Moonlight Sonata, you can tackle a couple hymns.  Anyway - I'm always behind the organ.  So I jump at the chance to sing.  Our Stake Choir sang 2 songs for the Sunday Session of Stake Conference.  Evelyn (our conductor) chose "Help Me Teach With Inspiration" and "Press Forward Saints".  And both songs had 3 part women's harmony.  I loved it.

The speakers were almost all the same as last night, but the talks were different.  I feel kind of bad for them - they have to speak twice, one day then the other, and have to deliver 2 different talks.  Seems like a lot of work that could be spread out...  Not that I didn't like their talks.  They were all different and all very good.  Mom liked Brother Risenmay's so much that she wants a copy of it.  He talked on the atonement.  None of the information was new, but was put in such a way that it felt new.

We were home by about noon, which is a whole new sensation for me.  Usually I'm just then getting ready to head to church.  Mostly it was a lazy Sunday.  I did some indexing, but that was about as productive as I got.
