Cleaning, Simplicity and Orange Chicken

Happy Veterans Day!  I'm grateful for the men and women who serve (and have served) our country.  Thank you for your dedication and service.

Being my day off, I did a significant amount of laundry and cleaning.  But, Tif was also home, so we did some shopping and at Joann's they had Simplicity patterns on sale for $1!  One.  Dollar.  It was like Christmas came early.  Because most of the patterns we like in the Simplicity book are $16-$20.  We found about 7-10 that we liked and whittled that down to our 5 favorite.  I bought them, and had the most fun at a cash register ever.  The discounts don't show on the customer screen until the cashier has finalized the transaction.  So the total was $80+.  She hit the finalize button, and it dropped down to just over $5 (with tax).  Best. Thing. Ever.

We got home and everyone took an item for dinner:  Rice, Chicken or Sauce.  Mom took the rice, Tif the chicken, and I took the sauce.  We had it together in just about 20 minutes.  I think it's called "Skinny Orange Chicken."  We like this recipe too.  For some reason we really like the Chinese (ish) recipes:  Beef & Broccoli, Orange Chicken, General Tso's, etc.  It was very good.

Then I went to Institute.  We tackled the Isaiah Barrier in 2 Nephi tonight.  Amazingly, it wasn't as hard as it has been in the past.  But I did take the Isaiah class with Bishop Stones, so that probably helped, too.  When I was leaving Institute, I saw this beautiful moon rising.  Sadly, no pictures, but just know that it was beautiful.
