Finally Home

So, this last Thursday I had planned on a nice flight home. Aunt Kathleen drove Laura, Betsey and I to the airport (Betsey flew to Louisiana) and it was kinda snowy. So we get there, check baggage, go through security, wait at our gate. Then an announcement comes over the speaker: "Flight 'Whatever Number it Was' to Spokane has been canceled. The Spokane airport has closed down due to a bad snow storm." We were devastated. So I called mom and she told me to go to Delta b/c they had a 3 o'clock to Pasco. So we (Laura and I) ran to Delta, but that flight was completely booked. So then we ran back to Southwest and my cell phone died and I hadn't thought to bring a charger.

So we use Laura's cell phone. We spend a few hours trying to find other flights. We end up on a flight to Portland at 7:45 pm. So we wait, get some dinner, wait some more. Then mom calls and says we can't fly in b/c we would be stranded in Portland. So we had to cancel our reservation on that flight and hurry to the ticket counter to make sure our bags weren't sent on to Portland. Luckily we got our bags back and Aunt Kathleen came and picked us up. We didn't get back to her place until about 10 that night.

We spent Friday just lounging around and watching movies. Then finally Saturday we actually got on our plane and made it to Spokane. It's still under pretty bad snow, but the roads weren't nearly as bad as they were Thursday.

All in all, I am SO glad to be home, it's not funny. And I learned way more than I ever wanted to about having a flight canceled. So I just thought I'd update you, even though most of you probably already know everything (cuz you all are just smart like that!).

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a good Christmas Holiday!!!
